Modern Day Algeria

By Jacob Rodriguez

Algeria

Technology Advances

At first when Algeria broke from France in 1962 they only had 300 Doctors and barely any health care. Progress was made and now they have a network of hospitals. Algeria also has a network of clinics, medical centers and small health units or dispensaries. Free medical care is given to the elderly and children with low income families.
Algeria made major technical advances in steel and petrochemical industries. 58% of college and university enrollments have been for students in Engineering. There are 18 research centers for technology transfers. However, they are still dependent on foreign technologies and need more skilled workers.
Medical Advancements
It is mandatory and free for Algerian children from 6 through 9 to go to primary school. After primary school some kids take their studies even further into secondary school. There are three classes you can take. They are called General, specialized, and technical / vocational. Technical and Vocational will prepare students to work in the industry. It can also lead to higher education in certain classes. General and Specialized classes can make you get a high education and there are schools in law, letters, medicine, pharmacy, and science's.
There are 39,204,242 people in Algeria. Algeria is located in the North part of Africa. Algeria has made many advancements in different fields. My presentation is about the changes and improvements about Algeria.
Water
83% of the Algeria population has acess to clean water.
Houses Before and Now
Transportation Advancements
In 2008, the Metro was made. There are also bikes, cars and planes for transportation. In 2020, Algeria expects the Metro to reach it's full potential with the new things that will be added.
Libraries and Museums
The largest libraries are the University of Algeria and the National Library. There's also the Bardo National Museum of Prehistory and Etnography. There are many more museums and libraries. These places increase knowledge for all the people.
Thank You!
Thank You for watching my presentation about Algeria's advancements. These advancements were just the beginning and many more are to come.
Sports
In Algeria, mostly everyone plays sports like Soccer, Track, Swimming, Volleyball and Horse Racing. Not only sports are played people also play chess, dominos, checkers and cards. Sports are a great way to stay fit and not spend the whole day at home doing nothing. Games like chess are good to play to socialize with others and not let the day go by with doing nothing.
